Osh, Charlie and Ashley feel that business should be a force for good.
Look after guests, look after our team and then also
do our bit for the wider world.
How it works:
Every year, The Devonshire will give a portion of profits to charity and to support ideas and projects we are excited about.
EverYONE WHO WORKS AT THE DEVONSHIRE is very welcome to give suggestions.
The Devonshire will ALSO Try TO support any team member raising money themselves (doing a sponsored event eTC).

ROOF TOP BUSKING
For years, Christmas Eve in Dublin meant Glen Hansard on Grafton Street — an Irish music legend turning a street corner into a community and raising vital funds for charity. He hasn’t done those busks for a few years now, but the spirit behind them never went away.
More recently, Glen suggested bringing that same idea indoors: a busking-style session, held at The Devonshire, friends of the business coming together to raise money for charity. The result was an amazing night - raising £10,000 for Under One Sky.
Mikkel from Under One Sky sent this message, explaining that the proceeds from the evening will ‘provide support in the form of food, hot & cold drinks, toiletries and socks to close to 3,000 individuals experiencing street homelessness. Put differently, our one night on the terrace will enable the charity to support 23% of people surviving on the streets of London in a year. The benefits go beyond the supplies provided, these moments of connection and kindness save lives’

British explorer Lucy Scheps is a friend of the pub. In December 2025, she is travelled to the South Pole with Darren Edwards and his team to embark on a journey to attempt to set a new world record for the longest sit-ski expedition to the South Pole in the history of Antarctic exploration. She explained:
The expedition is called Redefining Impossible and we are helping Darren Edwards break the record for furthest and farthest Sit Ski to the South Pole. Darren was in a climbing accident a few years ago which led him to be paralysed and wheelchair bound, but it didn't let that stop him and he's been defying the odds ever since. This will be his biggest and most ambitious expedition and I am honoured to be part of the team in making this happen. It's a unique expedition and going on the basis that Impossible is an opinion, not a fact.
Our goal is to raise 100k for Wings for Life, we are getting very closer to this goal now! WFL is a charity that is leading the way with spinal cord injury research. There is so little funding for this so it is so important to both raise money and awareness. The research is doing so well that Darren truly believes that one day in the not too distant future, he will walk again.
Suggested by Chrissy
Chrissy met Jonathan when she was working in October. Jonathan and his wife are the co-founders of the MVA Society, the world’s first charity supporting those with Mosaic Variegated Aneuploidy. When he was just a few months old, Jonathan’s son George was diagnosed with MVA. Unfortunately, the condition is ultra-rare, affecting less than 50 people worldwide, and there is currently no existing research available. It’s a lifelong diagnosis that can lead to complex medical challenges, including developmental delays, growth issues, and an increased risk of childhood and adult cancers.
Jonathan and his wife are making it their mission to begin the research by running various fundraising events. In November, Chrissy attended their first ever fundraising dinner, which they held to celebrate one year of operation. They have recently reached their target of £200k which will allow research to begin!
LONDON MARATHON APRIL 2026
Sasha is training to run the London Marathon in 2026. He is part of a team running for Children with Cancer, in memory of Sammy Jo Brandon.
It all started with a joke and a few raised eyebrows. When Sacha casually announced he was going to run the London Marathon, a few people laughed and doubted he’d actually go through with it. Instead of backing down, Sacha is embracing the challenge by taking on one of the world’s most iconic races, not just to prove a point, but to raise money and make a significant difference to the charity.
The Just Giving sponsorship link is below and The Devonshire will also match the final amount he raises.
MAKING THINGS HAPPEN
Devonshire Giving hopes to help people involved with the Devonshire make exciting and meaningful things happen. We support things we care about and, although many of our donations will go to charities, we are not a registered charity ourselves. This is important as it gives us the freedom do things our own way. It’s still early days, so both this website and the way we operate will evolve over time. This is a starting point as we work things out.
There is never any expectation to get involved. However, if you have a suggestion about something you would like to support, please feel free to speak to Sophie, Chrissy, Gemma, Sujan, or any of the founders at any time.
This website is intended for internal use at the Devonshire, and we generally won’t be making a lot of noise about the things we support. This does not mean we are not very excited about what we are doing. Quite the opposite - but the motivation is simply to get stuff done, not to try and impress by shouting about it.
HOW THINGS WILL WORK
Donations and events will happen throughout the year, and there will be one main donations week annually. Suggestions can be made at any time and will be noted.
All donations will be made as one-off contributions. At the moment, we do not plan to set up ongoing partnerships with charities.
Everyone who works at the Devonshire - front and back of house - is very welcome to share their ideas. The process is deliberately informal, and the easiest way to put a suggestion forward is to have a chat with Sophie, Sujan, Lara or Chrissy, or use the contact form on this website.
